Title
Micromachine-Based Fault-Tolerant High Resolution High-Speed Programmable Fiber-Optic Attenuator
Abstract
A fault-tolerant transmissive mode general purpose variable fiber-optic attenuator is proposed based on the use of MEMS-based small-tilt micromirror technology. Experimental results using a visible design 2D-DMD indicate a 37.8-dB maximum optical attenuation with a 11-bit resolution.
