Abstract
We develop an analytical model for the congestion control mechanism of an Internet friendly transport-level protocol (IFTP). The IFTP does not require routers to provide any additional mechanisms to support it. We evaluate IFTP through simulation and show that it solves the TCP-friendly problem. We also test IFTP against some important performance metrics such as packet delay and delay jitter.
