Title
Region Of Flutter And Buckling Instability For A Cracked Beam
Abstract
The region of two distinct instability forms, namely, flutter and buckling, for cracked beams, was studied. The numerical results show that the transition value of the elastic spring at the right end of the beam is smaller than the value for the healthy counterpart when the crack is located at L1/L<0.45, but the converse is true when L1L≥0.45. In addition, the transition value remains the same as that for the healthy beam when the crack is located at two specific locations, that is, L1L≈0.45 and L1L=1.
