40 Ghz Millimetre-Wave Link Based On Two-Section Gain-Coupled Dfb Lasers
Abstract
The distribution of modulated 40 GHz millimeter-wave signal, based on a two-section gain coupled distributed feedback (DFB) laser, through an optical fibre backbone was studied. The advantages of using optical devices lie in their large tuning range. By utilizing these devices, 155 Mbit/s phase modulated data was transmitted over 6 km with bit error ratio of <10-10.
