Title
Stretched Axisymmetric Vortices In A Compressible Fluid
Abstract
Stretched axisymmetric vortices in a compressible fluid are considered. The flow associated with the vortex is perpendicular to the plane of the uniform straining flow, a situation that is well suited to modeling an axisymmetric mixing-layer flow. Compressibility effects are considered to be weak to facilitate an analytic solution. Applications to compressible turbulence are discussed.
