Title
Observation Of Self-Focusing Of Light Mediated By Cubic Nonlinearities In Potassium Titanyl Phosphate
Abstract
The observation of self-focusing of light mediated by cubic nonlinearities in potassium titanyl phosphate was reported. The drastic differences between upconversion and downconversion processes were highlighted. It was found that a combination of cubic cross-phase modulation and weak quadratic cascading seems to be responsible for the accompanying narrowing of the ordinary-polarized fundamental frequency [FF(o)] beam.
