Title
Corrosion Resistance Characteristics Of A Modified Weathering Steel
Abstract
Corrosion evaluation data were generated to establish the superiority of copper-added ASTM A-242 grade of steel over the classically used ASTM A27, in the search for development of modified weathering steels for the coal handing plants in India. In this endeavour, a focussed polarization study was carried out for potentiokinetic measurements under various likely atmospheric conditions, and the resultant corrosion, mechanical and microstructural properties were analysed to ensure that such a steel would really be more suited to fend off deteroration in practice.
