Title
Femtosecond Fabrication Of Waveguides And Gratings In Chalcogenide Thin Films
Abstract
Material ablation and corresponding structural changes in single and multilayer ChG films, were described using an unamplified Ti:sapphire laser. Relief and volume gratings with a 60 μm period were recorded on a 1.66 μm thick, As2S3 thin film by processing the sample in two processing regimes. Results indicated that in the first regime the generated volume grating resulted from photoexpansion and an induced index change. In the second regime, intensities above the ablation threshold produced a relief grating with grooves of 0.2 μm depth.
