Title
Dependence Of Two-Photon Excitation On The Relative Polarization Of Intersecting Pump Beams In A Dye Solution
Abstract
A semi-classical model that explains the observations, including the absorption strength ration and the cos2 dependence on the relative polarization angle is presented. It is shown that it is related to the Kerr effect describing the effect of an applied DC field on the polarizability of a molecule solution. In addition, cases of degenerate two-photn absorption (2PA) in which a smaller ratio between maximum and minimum signals is observed is shown as well.
