Knowledge Systems
Abstract
This paper contributes a general model of knowledge systems. Knowledge systems are a series of knowledge processes interrelated in ways that produce knowledge change and consequently a change in the performance and capabilities of the work unit or organization which is operating the system. The general model of knowledge system was developed using literature and our experience as applied researchers. This paper can be used by academics as a foundation for further research and development in the area of knowledge management. Knowledge management practitioners can use this paper as a guide to develop custom knowledge management systems aligned to the knowledge needs of work units or organizations.
