Title
Mixed Reality In Education, Entertainment, And Training
Abstract
A mixed reality (MR) experience is one where the user is placed in an interactive setting that is either real with virtual asset augmentation or virtual with real-world augmentation. The MR for Military Operations in Urban Terrain is installed at the US Army's Research Development and Engineering Command. The application focuses on an extreme and complex layered representation of combat reality using all the simulation domain. Another application is the sea creatures experience in Orlando Science Center's DinoDigs exhibition hall which presents fossils of marine repltiles in fish in an elegant, unclattered environment. MR's success will come about not only by advancing technological capabilities but also by creative possibilities.
