Title
Coherent Optical Communications: What Next?
Abstract
Modulation formats for optical communication have evolved from NRZ to RZ to CSRZ, and recently to RZ D(Q)PSK, a coherent modulation technique. Coherent optical communications, extensively investigated before the arrival of EDFA, is attracting renewed interest. © 2005 Optical Society of America.
