Simplified Receiver Implementation For Optical Differential 8-Level Phase-Shift Keying
Abstract
A simplified receiver implementation for optical differential 8-level phase-shift keying using direct detection is proposed This implementation reduces the number of optical components in the receiver to half. The impact of non-ideal receiver parameters is analysed and quantified for a 1 dB OSNR penalty.
