Title
Integrating Human Factors Into The Design Process At Nasa
Keywords
Decision support system; Human factors; Human reliability; Process engineering
Abstract
NASA has been challenged to integrate human factors seamlessly into process engineering because not all engineering teams include human factors expertise. There are many simple human factors techniques that can be implemented by non-experts, but not all systems engineers are familiar with them or know when and how they can be used. To overcome these challenges, NASA is developing a decision support system that considers resource requirements, expertise and training requirements, the most appropriate conditions for use, and other factors.
