Numerical Modeling Of Quantum Waveguide Device
Abstract
A numerical approach based on the finite element method (FEM) and rigorous mode-matching method is described for quantum waveguide devices with multistep discontinuities, arbitrary potential and effective mass profiles. Dispersion relations and transport properties are simulated for nonuniform quantum waveguide composed of semiconductor heterostructures. Radiation characteristics are studied in detail with respect to different kinds of structures. © 2004 IEEE.
