Title
Observation Of Discrete Quadratic Solitons
Abstract
Discrete solitons with two frequency components locked by a quadratic nonlinearity were investigated. Various optical experiments were performed in arrays of coupled channel waveguides with tunable cascaded quadratic nonlinearity. To avoid coupling to linear waves, soliton solutions exit only with wave vectors and require positive nonlinear phase modulation in center of the Brillouin zone. The results show that tunability occurs as a prerequisite such that soliton with different topology could be identified in same array.
