Abstract
The pulsating instability of near-limit C3H8, CH 4 and H2 under effect of laminar nonpremixed flames was investigated. The pulsating modes were observed near heat loss and blowout limits. The Lewis number, Leeff ≥ 2.6 for pulsating instability was found to occur in near-limit flames. The flames with Leeff as large as 1.8 exhibit pulsating instability. The results show that larger values of Le are necessary for pulsating instability to occur in near-limit flames.
