Title
Effects On The Organizational Rank Length Of Time In Assignment On Expatriate Commitment
Abstract
The few studies on expatriate organizational commitment have not examined its relationship with organizational rank or length of time in assignment. This study investigates these relationships among expatriates in Russia. Forty-five managers (66%) and nonmanagers (34%) responded. Results indicated that expatriates in their assignment for less than 3 months had the highest level of commitment. Additionally, nonmanagers were more committed than managers. The study discusses implications of these results and future research directions. © 2004 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
