Abstract
Advanced practice registered nurses, and clinical nurse specialists in particular, play a critical role in creating an institutional research culture and developing nurses' knowledge about the research process, implementing evidence-based care, and participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives. This article focuses on creating nursing research opportunities in small healthcare facilities located in rural settings.
