Title
3-D Modeling, Smoothing, And Finite Element Modeling Of The Femur
Abstract
Computed Tomography data of a male was obtained from the National Institute of Health. The data was used to create three-dimensional models of the femur. These models were subject to data smoothing to prepare them for finite element meshing. The meshing was performed using a highly controlled mesh of hexahedral elements. Initial analysis of the femur model has been has been performed to verify its reliability. Copyright © 2004 by ASME.
