Title
Multi-User Tcp Throughput In Multi-Rate Cellular Networks
Abstract
In this paper, we consider a multi-rate cellular system like High Data Rate (HDR) and represent the state space using a Markov chain. We compute the transition probability of each state assuming that transition is possible between adjacent states. We focus on the TCP performance with a radio link protocol implemented that tries to hide channel related losses from TCP. We use an M/G/1 queuing model to capture the delay and throughput for different schedulers. We also illustrate how TCP throughput, link layer throughput, delay, and fairness are affected and dependent on parameters like number of users in the system and the underlying radio link protocol. ©2007 IEEE.
