Title
Putting Is Research In Context
Abstract
Some of the significant aspects associated with a research context in information systems research are discussed. There are four main aspects that need to be considered for a research context. These four essential aspects include the user, the environment, the task, and the technology that combine to make up the context of a study. The importance of individual differences has been debated in information systems research over a long period of time. The research needs to consider the impact of the user on its results. Characteristics of the user that are important include sex, age, experience, and culture. The environment in which a study is conducted is another important element of context. A number of task characteristics may be for a research context. These essential task characteristics include complexity, interdependence, and its nature.
