Title
Modelocked Semiconductor Laser Clocks For Applications In Photonic Analog To Digital Converters
Abstract
Noise properties of modelocked semiconductor laser clocks are measured for applications in photonic analog to digital converters. The lasers possess 0.1% amplitude fluctuations and approx. 46 fsec timing jitter at 10 GHz repetition rates, which is sufficient for 10 Gsps, 10 bit resolution ADC's. Additionally, a COTS component, multiwavelength, composite diode laser/fiber cavity based on the international telecommunication grid (ITU) wavelength spacing is also presented.
