Tunable 3-Db Multimode Interference Coupler
Abstract
An electrically tunable multimode interference (MMI) coupler/splitter is demonstrated. The device operates by modifying the phase of the multiple images in the MMI to fine-tune the 50:50 output power split ratio or other arbitrary ratio. © 2005 Optical Society of America.
