Abstract
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) technology is creating a new communication revolution for website publishers and content providers. This technology is foundational to a movement that will change the web from being a static means of communication to an interactive personalized information center. RSS communication technology is an XML-based format that allows syndication of web content to other websites and to users seeking personalized content. This technology replaces the need of maintaining email newsletters and alerts. The author discusses the advantages for publishers and for users in the shift from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0. © 2006 by The Haworth Press. All rights reserved.
