Abstract
A new method named catalyst-assisted pyrolysis of polymeric precursor to synthesize low-dimensional nanomaterials was present in this paper. Low-dimensional nanomaterials with various morphologies such as Si 3N4 nanowires, Si3N4 nanobelts and SiC nanorods were synthesized via this method at different pyrolysis temperatures. The mechanism that governed the formation of nanowires, nanobelts and nanorods was discussed.
