Abstract
Constructing a social potential model for movement can seem like a daunting task. There can be many factors which could influence the movement of an individual. We describe the process we used to determine the factors and weights for two different social force models. The approach of constructing a social potential model is broken into 6 phases. What is to be accomplished at each phase is described, along with the expected deliverables generated. This outlines a set of guidelines for building and testing new social potential models along with modifications to existing models.
