Abstract

Recently, we proposed the P-Pruning DDM algorithm and compared its performance with three other DDM methods in a standalone distributed simulation environment. This research work focuses on comparison of performance of different DDM algorithms in actual distributed simulation environment. In this paper, we present the integration of the P-Pruning algorithm with a HLA implementation called FDK. FDK was developed at the Georgia Institute of Technology. It has been widely used by researchers in academia, industry, and government laboratories as an effective software package for evaluating their research contributions to distributed simulation technology. We also describe the enhancements made to FDK from its existing HLA 1.3 specification to the IEEE 1516 standard for DDM implementation.
