Title
Investigation Of Detector Coverage For Exact Reconstruction With General Circle+Curve Trajectory
Abstract
We show that the general circle+curve algorithm for CT reconstruction does not impose any additional requirements on the detector coverage, compared to the approximate circle-only reconstruction, provided we use a cylindrical detector. That is, we show that there is no longitudinal truncation of the filtering lines with the proposed general circle+curve algorithm. In practice it means that no extrapolation (or, alternatively, restriction of the reconstruction filed of view) is required for the exact image reconstruction. ©2008 IEEE.
