Generating A Database That Allows For Comprehensive Comparisons Among Undergraduate Industrial Engineering Programs Nationwide

Keywords

Abstract

To enhance the undergraduate Industrial Engineering curriculum at the University of Central Florida, benchmarking was necessary. To simplify this process and increase the usability of its information, a database was designed encompassing the capacity of each program, its IE curriculum, and significant historical and statistical facts. We describe how this problem was approached and systematically explain the database's structure, ways to utilize its extensive capabilities, and its application at UCF in the validation of a national IE curriculum reform. The database will become available on the Internet, enabling schools to add/update their information, and conduct analyses specific to their desired purposes.
