Title
60 Channel × 3.6-Gb/S Optical Wdm Transmitter Using A Multiwavelength Modelocked Semiconductor Laser
Abstract
Advances in the number of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) channels that were generated by a single semiconductor diode laser (SDL) transmitter were presented. A 60 channel ×3.6-Gb/s optical WDM transmitter was discussed using a multiwavelength modelocked semiconductor laser. The 3.592-Gb/s pulse train was measured using a 25 GHz photodetector and a 50 GHz signal analyzer and a fixed pseudo-random bit sequence was used to generate the eye diagram. The results demonstrated the generation of 60 independent, synchronized return to zero (RZ) pulse trains operating at 3.592-Gb/s.
