13.1: Low Voltage And High Transmittance Polymer-Stabilized Blue-Phase Liquid Crystal Displays
Abstract
In this paper, a low voltage (<10V) and high transmittance (∼85.6%) polymer-stabilized blue-phase liquid crystal display (BP LCD) is proposed. The periodic corrugated electrodes generate a strong horizontal field and more importantly this field is uniformly distributed across the entire LC layer. This new approach enables BPLC to be addressed by a-Si TFTs. © 2010 SID.
