Abstract

Emissions inventory for the University of Central Florida (UCF), which contributes significantly to VOC, NO x, and CO 2 emissions in Central Florida area, was presented. A survey was conducted to students, faculty, staff, and administrators to determine their commuting distances and frequencies. Vehicle type, and age distribution of the personal vehicles of students, faculty, administration, and staff as well as their bus, car-pool, and alternate transportation usage were determined. The EPA approved mobile source emissions model, Motor Vehicle Emissions Simulator were used to calculate the emissions from on-road vehicles, and used gasoline consumption records to calculate the emissions from non-road equipment and on campus UCF fleet vehicles. The results of the emissions inventory were presented, and UCF emissions were compared to a recently completed emissions inventory for the entire three-county area in Central Florida. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 104th AWMA Annual Conference and Exhibition 2011 (Orlando, FL 6/21-24/2011).
