Title
High Power High-Density Spectral Beam Combining By Volume Bragg Gratings
Abstract
Realizing high power high radiance sources for defense and industrial applications at the 100 kW level will likely require beam combining techniques due to fundamental thermal and non-linear limitations on the average power of a single diffraction-limited laser. Spectral beam combining (SBC) techniques can be used to sum the power of individual lasers to produce a diffraction-limited output beam with power equal to the sum of the input beams. © 2011 IEEE.
