Perfect Set-And-Forget Alignment Of Silicon Photonic Resonators And Interferometers
Abstract
Permanent tuning of C- and L-band silicon Mach-Zehnder interferometers and microrings is demonstrated by oxidizing the silicon waveguide core with Angstrom-level precision. Such tuning may lower the power consumption of photonic circuits by an order-of-magnitude. © 2011 Optical Society of America.
