Title
New Architecture Single-Phase Micro Inverter With Cascaded Low Voltage Dc/Dc Cells
Abstract
A new architecture using multi-level lows voltage DC/DC cells with super high power density is presented in this paper. The new class inverter topology is based on cascaded low-voltage DC/DC converter cells that will benefit from the hyper-competitive DC/DC computer/telecom converter global supply chain and manufacturing infrastructures. Furthermore, the switching frequency of each DC/DC cell can be design at high switching frequency while boundary mode control is adopted to achieve zero voltage switching (ZVS) reducing switching loss of power semiconductors. In addition, a method is illustrated to achieve minimum number of the Total Harmonics Distortion (THD) based on the different stair-steps of output waveforms. Finally, the concept of the novel architecture is built by Matlab simulink to verify the feasibility. Finally, a prototype with single phase is also set up to test the performance and verify the new architecture for micro-inverter application. © 2012 IEEE.
