Abstract

In our earlier work, we presented analytical models for the p-persistent 802.11 MAC protocol in both saturated and unsaturated load conditions. Both models were developed based on the assumption that all the nodes have equal load. But, in the real world, equal load assumption is not always accurate. In this paper, we extend our analytical model to the case of unequal load conditions and use the extended model to calculate the service time delay and end-to-end delay. The analytical model is validated by extensive simulation results generated using NS2. © 2010 IEEE.
