Abstract
Running barefoot or in minimalist footwear has become a popular trend. whether this trend is supported by evidence or conjecture has yet to be determined. this article will review the biomechanical differences between running barefoot and in shoes that have been identified in the literature. it will also provide an evidence-based preparatory exercise program for the individual transitioning to the barefoot style of running.
