Title
A Model For Correlation Of Bridge Seismic Performance
Abstract
A model for bridge seismic performance correlation is proposed consistent with PEER framework to facilitate the reliability assessment of bridge networks, which takes the probabilistic model for reinforced concrete bridges by Mackie et al. (2008) as the basis. In the formulation of the correlation model, the variables presented in the PEER framework for probabilistic performance-based seismic evaluation are considered and the parameters relevant to the seismic performance correlation are included in the proposed model, while the background, i.e. the sources of the correlation of the bridge seismic performance, is introduced first. Finally, the magnitudes of performance correlation is illustrated using the data for performance assessment of typical Caltrans highway overpass bridges in the San Francisco Bay Area hazard environment developed by the PEER Center. © 2013 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
