Pactive Sensors For Security Applications

Abstract
In this paper, we describe a novel sensor that combines features from both passive and active millimeter-wave systems: a pactive sensor. The usefulness of a pactive sensor lies in its ability to combine measurements to reduce ambiguity; to switch between modalities in order to resolve and enhance image details; to preserve size, weight, and power (SWaP); and finally to reduce cost. © 2013 IEEE.
