Title

Some More Reflections On Team Cognition

Abstract

There is understandably a great interest in team cognition, and this trend does not appear to be ending any time soon. The science of teams would be incomplete without first considering and understanding team cognition. Appreciating its significance and influence on a variety of domains has resulted in both the expansion and improvement of the field. The field is amassed with literature that is relevant to all disciplines that have a shared interest in team cognition. The difficulty lies in uncovering an effective medium by which these ideas can be shared across disciplinary domains. Experts from a range of disciplines are recognizing the need to merge their array of contributions from their respective fields. This is an important step for team cognition because the disciplines’ research questions are beginning to intersect and can work to complement one another. As such, continuing to move forward as individual disciplines would only hinder effective progress in the field.
