Title
Chirped Volume Bragg Gratings As Broad Spectrum Focusing Or Collimating Elements
Abstract
We demonstrate the use of chirped volume Bragg gratings (VBGs) as flat focusing elements for wavelengths different than the wavelength used for recording of the Bragg grating and with efficiencies of up to 95%. The VBGs were recorded in photo-thermo-refractive (PTR) glass with laser generating at 325 nm and were tested with wavelengths ranging from visible up to near IR spectral regions and beam sizes from one to three millimeters, achieving diffraction limited quality in all cases. © 2013 The Optical Society.
