Multimaterial Fibers: A New Concept In Infrared Fiber Optics
Keywords

Abstract
Recent progress in combing multiple materials with distinct optical, electronic, and thermomechanical properties monolithically in a kilometer-long fiber drawn from a preform offers unique multifunctionality at a low cost. Here, we summarize the application of this nascent concept of multimaterial fibers to infrared fiber optics. © 2014 Copyright SPIE.
