Abstract
The curved permanent magnetic linear machine (PMLM) is a particular type of machine that can satisfy same special utilities. A curved PMLM for a golf training swing system (GSTS) is presented. The curved PMLM drives the carriage along the ring up-down. Neglecting the saturations and the end effect, the analysis method generates large error at high force outputs. The 3D FEA method is adopted to study the static and transient characteristics. Based on the slot star, the phase winding is completed. And the corresponding FEA model is built. Considering the manufacture cost, an improved rectangle type of armature stack is introduced. Comparing with the preceding design, the modified machine has similar characteristics.
