Abstract
ADVANCES IN TECHNOLOGY, SUCH AS GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM DEVICES AND TIME MOTION ANALYSIS SOFTWARE, ARE CREATING A MORE ACCURATE MEANS FOR ANALYSIS OF AN ATHLETE'S PERFORMANCE. RESEARCH STUDIES FREQUENTLY USE THIS TYPE OF TECHNOLOGY TO ASSESS THE PHYSIOLOGICAL DEMANDS PLACED ON SURFING ATHLETES. THIS ARTICLE APPLIES THESE FINDINGS TO TRAINING PROGRAM DESIGN TO MEET THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF TODAY'S SURFING ATHLETES.
