Abstract
Abstract: The photodetachment cross sections of the C2H− and C4H− molecular anions in their ground electronic andvibrational states are determined using the R-matrix approach. The obtained results arecompared with available experimental data of absolute photodetachment cross sections. Inaddition, cross sections for the inverse process, i.e., radiative electron attachment, have also been determined and are used to obtain the corresponding thermally-averaged ratecoefficients. At a temperature of 300 K, the rate coefficients are 2.3 × 10-16 and 18 × 10-16 cm3/s for C2H− and C4H−, respectively. Graphical abstract: [Figure not available: see fulltext.]
