Abstract
Jörg Henkel from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, shares his views on the Internet of Things (IoT), its applications, challenges, and how it may change the way of computing. He focuses on two major design constraints, such as, security and power management. A critical effect of the broad scope of IoT is that it challenges the current separation of topic areas in computing. For example, an IoT device requires energy efficiency, security, interoperability with software applications, and it is difficult to separate the concerns of one topic when considering the advances in another.
