Abstract
This investigation was a qualitative evaluation of the Counseling Competencies Scale (CCS; Swank, Lambie, & Witta, 2012) with clinical supervisors (N = 6) and their supervisees (N = 23) during their graduate-level practicum counseling experience. Five themes were identified (cognitive understanding, emotional understanding, feedback, trustworthiness, and gatekeeping), underscoring both the benefits and challenges within utilizing the CCS.
