To Twist Or Not To Twist: Capacity Limits For Free-Space Channels
Abstract
We show that orbital angular momentum (OAM) multiplexing does not realize the capacity limits of free-space channels. To approach the capacity limits, one should multiplex in a complete modal basis for the free-space channel or in parallel Gaussian beams.
