A Third-Order High-Q Siw Filter/Antenna With Two Cavities And One Integrated Slot Antenna

Abstract
A high-Q 3-D filter/antenna integration is presented herein. The filter/antenna is composed of a surface gap ring resonator and a cavity-backed slot antenna, where the slot antenna has a narrower bandwidth than the filter causing it to behave as a resonator and contribute a pole to the filtering function. The filter/antenna operates at a center frequency of 3.75 GHz with a fractional bandwidth of 8.07%, a gain of 4.94 dBi, and overall efficiency of 95.4%.
